The matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are a large family of zinc endopeptidases. All MMPs are synthesized as inactive proenzymes. The activation of these proenzymes is a critical step that leads to degradation of extracellular matrix components such as fibronectin and collagen type III. MMP8 is known to degrade fibrillar type I, II, and III collagens. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. , Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 0.75ug/ml, Immunohistochemistry (FFPE): 1-2ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
