Anti-MAGEC1, CT (Melanoma-associated Antigen C1, MAGE-C1 Antigen, Cancer/Testis Antigen 7.1, CT7.1)

MAGEC1 is a member of the melanoma antigen gene (MAGE) family. The proteins of this family are tumor-specific antigens that can be recognized by autologous cytolytic T lymphocytes. This protein contains a large number of unique short repetitive sequences in front of the MAGE-homologous sequence, thus is about 800 residues longer than the other MAGE proteins. This gene is expressed in a significant proportion of tumors of various histological types, whereas it is silent in normal tissues, except testis. The function of this gene is unknown. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000, Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:50-1:100, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
