Product information "Anti-MAGE3 / Melanoma-associated antigen 3"
In 1X PBS, pH 7.4, with 0.09% sodium azide. MAGE3, also known as Melanoma-associated antigen 3, is a protein that is commonly expressed in melanoma cells. It plays a crucial role in tumor growth and progression, making it an attractive target for cancer therapy. Research has shown that targeting MAGE3 can effectively inhibit the growth of melanoma cells, leading to the potential development of new treatments for this aggressive form of cancer. One of the most exciting aspects of MAGE3 is its ability to stimulate the immune system to recognize and attack cancer cells. This makes it a promising candidate for immunotherapy, a cutting-edge treatment that harnesses the power of the body's own immune system to fight cancer. By targeting MAGE3, researchers hope to develop more effective and targeted therapies for melanoma patients. Recent studies have highlighted the potential of MAGE3 as a biomarker for predicting the prognosis of melanoma patients. By measuring the levels of MAGE3 in tumor samples, doctors can better tailor treatment plans and improve patient outcomes. Protein function: Activator of ubiquitin ligase activity of RING-type zinc finger-containing E3 ubiquitin-protein ligases that acts as a repressor of autophagy (PubMed:20864041, PubMed:31267705). May enhance ubiquitin ligase activity of TRIM28 and stimulate p53/TP53 ubiquitination by TRIM28. Proposed to act through recruitment and/or stabilization of the Ubl-conjugating enzyme (E2) at the E3:substrate complex (PubMed:17942928, PubMed:20864041). May play a role in embryonal development and tumor transformation or aspects of tumor progression (PubMed:17942928, PubMed:20864041). In vitro promotes cell viability in melanoma cell lines (PubMed:17942928). Antigen recognized on a melanoma by autologous cytolytic T-lymphocytes (PubMed:8113684). [The UniProt Consortium]
