Product information "Anti-LPGAT1"
Protein function: Catalyzes the transfert of an acyl group from an acyl-CoA to a lysophosphatidylglycerol (LPG) leading to biosynthesis of phosphatidylglycerol, a precursor for cardiolipin synthesis (PubMed:15485873). Uses various acyl-CoAs and LPGs as substrates but demonstrates a clear preference for long chain saturated fatty acyl- CoAs and oleoyl-CoA as acyl donors (PubMed:15485873). Prefers oleoyl- LPG over palmitoyl-LPG as an acyl receptor and oleoyl-CoA over lauroyl- CoA as an acyl donor (PubMed:15485873). In vitro can also catalyzes the transfert of an acyl group from an acyl-CoA to a monoacylglycerol leading to diacylglycerol synthesis, a precursor of triacylglycerol and plays a role in hepatic triacylglycerol synthesis and secretion. Prefers the sn-2-monoacylglycerol to rac-1- monoacylglycerol as acyl acceptor. [The UniProt Consortium]
