function:Probable serine protease which may be involved in peroxisome biogenesis.,similarity:Belongs to the peptidase S16 family., Protein function: ATP-dependent serine protease that mediates the selective degradation of misfolded and unassembled polypeptides in the peroxisomal matrix. Necessary for type 2 peroxisome targeting signal (PTS2)-containing protein processing and facilitates peroxisome matrix protein import. May indirectly regulate peroxisomal fatty acid beta-oxidation through degradation of the self-processed forms of TYSND1. [The UniProt Consortium] Recommended dilutions: Western Blot: 1/500 - 1/2000. Immunohistochemistry: 1/100 - 1/300. ELISA: 1/40000. Not yet tested in other applications.. Cellular localization: Peroxisome matrix .
