Latexin, or tissue carboxypeptidase inhibitor (TCI), is the only known mammalian carboxypeptidase inhibitor. It is often related to a human putative tumor suppressor protein, TIG1. Latexin was first identified as a marker of neurons in the lateral neocortex of the developing mammalian brain. Latexin plays a role in the modulation of sensory perception and also functions in inflammation and innate immune pathways. The protein also contributes to the pathological disorders acute pancreatitis and lung inflammation. Latexin is expressed in heart, prostate, ovary, kidney, pancreas, colon and brain. The human latexin gene is assigned to chromosomal region 3q25.32. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 1:100, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
