Anti-Kallikrein 2 (KLK2), CT (KLK2, Kallikrein-2, Glandular kallikrein-1, Tissue kallikrein-2)

Kallikreins are a group of serine proteases manifesting diverse physiological functions. The glandular kallikreins are a distinct group of serine proteases with an ability to release vasoactive peptides from kininogen in vitro, although the kininogenase activity of different kallikreins is highly variable. Glandular kallikreins cleave Met-Lys and Arg-Ser bonds in kininogen to release Lys-bradykinin. Many kallikrein genes are differentially expressed in various malignancies. Human glandular kallikrein (hK2, encoded by the KLK2 gene) is an emerging tumor marker for prostate cancer. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after reciept. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
