Protein function: Favors the reduction of estrogens and androgens. Converts estrone (E1) to a more potent estrogen, 17beta-estradiol (E2) (PubMed:8994190). Also has 20-alpha-HSD activity. Uses preferentially NADH. [The UniProt Consortium] Buffer: 40% glycerol and PBS (pH 7.2). 0.02% sodium azide is added as preservative. Highest antigen sequence identity to mouse: 59% and to rat: 58%
