Anti-HIV1 Vif (SOR Protein, Virion infectivity Factor)

HIV1 Vif (viral infectivity factor), supports productive viral replication in non-permissive cells, such as peripheral blood lymphocytes. It functions by inactivating a cellular anti-viral factor named APOBEC3G., Vif binds viral RNA and affects the stability of viral nucleoprotein core. May play a role in viral morphology. Interacts with host ABCE1, which seems to be involved in lentiviruses capsid formation and displays RNase L inhibitor activity. This interaction may play a role in protecting viral RNA from damage during viral assembly, Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000. Predicted molecular weight: 23kD, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Sp2/0-Ag. myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
