Anti-HIRA (HIR Histone Cell Cycle Regulation Defective Homolog A (S. cerevisiae), HIR, DGCR1, Protei

HIRA is a histone chaperone that preferentially places the variant histone H3.3 in nucleosomes. Orthologs of this protein in yeast, flies, and plants are necessary for the formation of transcriptionally silent heterochomatin. It plays an important role in the formation of the senescence-associated heterochromatin foci. These foci likely mediate the irreversible cell cycle changes that occur in senescent cells. It is considered the primary candidate protein in some haploinsufficiency syndromes such as DiGeorge syndrome, and insufficient production of the gene may disrupt normal embryonic development. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000, Western Blot: 1:50-1:100, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
