CBX3 seems to be involved in transcriptional silencing in heterochromatin-like complexes. It recognizes and binds histone H3 tails methylated at 'Lys-9', leading to epigenetic repression. It may contribute to the association of the heterochromatin with the inner nuclear membrane through its interaction with lamin B receptor (LBR). In addition, it is involved in the formation of functional kinetochore through interaction with MIS12 complex proteins. Applications: Suitable for use in Peptide ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Recommended Dilutions: Peptide ELISA: Detection limit dilution 1:32,000 , Western Blot: 0.3-1.0 ug/ml. ~20kD band observed in lysates of A431, HeLa, HepG2, NIH3T3 and NSO.
