It stimulates stem cells to produce granulocytes and monocytes and is an essential regulator of neutrophil function. Protein function: Cytokine that stimulates the growth and differentiation of hematopoietic precursor cells from various lineages, including granulocytes, macrophages, eosinophils and erythrocytes.
