Product information "Anti-Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein (GFAP)"
GFAP is specifically found in astroglia. GFAP is a very popular marker for localizing benign astrocyte and neoplastic cells of glial origin in the central nervous system. Antibody to GFAP is useful in differentiating primary gliomas from metastatic lesions in the brain and for documenting astrocytic differentiation in tumors outside the CNS. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Flow Cytometry, Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml, Flow Cytometry: 0.5-1ug/10e6 cells, Immunofluorescence: 1-2ug/ml, Immunohistochemistry (FFPE): 0.25-0.5ug/ml/30min at RT, (Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM Citrate Buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes), Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Brain or Astrocytoma, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C.
