Product information "Anti-GFAP (Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein)"
G2032-27 stains astrocytes, glial cells, ependymal cells and their corresponding tumors. In the peripheral nervous system, Schwann cells, satellite cells, and enteric glial cells are stained. Weak stainging of axons has been observed. Absorption studies show that this is caused by a cross-reaction with neurofilament protein. G2032-27 is useful particularly for distinguishing neoplasms of astrocytic origin from other neoplasms in the central nervous system by immunohistochemistry. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin): 1:100-1:200 for 20 minutes at RT. No special pretreatment is required for the immunohistochemical staining of formalin/paraffin tissues., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Brain or astrocytoma, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
