Product information "Anti-GATA3, clone YN02076m"
GATA binding protein 3 (GATA3) is a member of the GATA family of transcription factors (including six members: GATA-1 to GATA-6). It plays an important role in promoting and guiding cell proliferation, development and differentiation in many tissues and cell types. GATA-3 is widely expressed in the epithelial cells of mammary duct glandular cavity and urinary tract epithelium, but not in myoepithelial cells. The expression of GATA-3 is closely associated with the expression of estrogen receptor-alpha in breast cancer, and there is evidence that GATA-3 can be used to predict the response to hormone therapy in breast cancer patients, and has also been shown to be a new marker for bladder cancer. Protein function: Transcriptional activator which binds to the enhancer of the T-cell receptor alpha and delta genes. Binds to the consensus sequence 5'-AGATAG-3'. Required for the T-helper 2 (Th2) differentiation process following immune and inflammatory responses. Positively regulates ASB2 expression. Coordinates macrophage transcriptional activation and UCP2-dependent metabolic reprogramming in response to IL33. Upon tissue injury, acts downstream of IL33 signaling to drive differentiation of inflammation-resolving alternatively activated macrophages. [The UniProt Consortium]
