Anti-GAP-43 [Rabbit]

GAP-43, also called neuromodulin, B-50, pp46 and F1, is a neuron-specific, membrane-associated phosphoprotein involved in axonal growth and found in neurons undergoing regeneration. The antiserum was raised against a synthetic C-terminal peptide of GAP-43. Absorption with 10-100 ug immunogen per ml diluted antiserum abolishes staining. Positive control: rat duodenum. Protein function: This protein is associated with nerve growth. It is a major component of the motile 'growth cones' that form the tips of elongating axons.
