Product information "Anti-FGL1 Rabbit (Clone RM502)"
Fibrinogen-like protein 1 (FGL1) is a member of the fibrinogen protein family. It functions as a homodimer and is composed of an N-terminal coiled-coiled domain, which promotes homo-oligomerization or hetero-oligomerization with lymphocyte activation gene 3 (LAG-3), and a C-terminal fibrinogen-like domain but lacks a platelet-binding region found in other fibrinogen proteins. FGL1 is expressed in and secreted from the liver and to a lesser extent in brown adipose tissue. It decreases anti-Cd3-induced proliferation in wild-type mouse T cells but not in Lag3-/- mouse T cells. Fgl1 knockout increases body weight, the liver weight to body weight ratio, hepatic triglyceride levels, and plasma cholesterol, free fatty acid, and glucose levels in mice. Plasma FGL1 levels are increased in patients with hyperglycemia. Cayman's FGL1 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (Clone RM502) can be used for immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Western blot (WB) applications.. Cross reactivity: (+) FGL1: . (+) Human: .. Protein function: Immune suppressive molecule that inhibits antigen-specific T- cell activation by acting as a major ligand of LAG3 (PubMed:30580966). Responsible for LAG3 T-cell inhibitory function (PubMed:30580966). Binds LAG3 independently from MHC class II (MHC-II) (PubMed:30580966). Secreted by, and promotes growth of, hepatocytes (PubMed:11470158, PubMed:19880967). [The UniProt Consortium]
