0.2 mg/ml in 1X PBS with 0.1 mg/ml BSA (US sourced) and 0.05% sodium azide. EpCAM is frequently upregulated in carcinomas but is not expressed in cancers of non-epithelial origin. EpCAM expression is not limited to human colon carcinomas, in fact, EpCAM is expressed in a variety of human epithelial tissues, carcinomas, and progenitor and stem cells. [Wiki] Protein function: May act as a physical homophilic interaction molecule between intestinal epithelial cells (IECs) and intraepithelial lymphocytes (IELs) at the mucosal epithelium for providing immunological barrier as a first line of defense against mucosal infection. Plays a role in embryonic stem cells proliferation and differentiation. Up-regulates the expression of FABP5, MYC and cyclins A and E. [The UniProt Consortium]
