Product information "Anti-EDA"
0.5mg/ml if reconstituted with 0.2ml sterile DI water. Anhidrotic ectodermal dysplasia is an X-linked recessive disorder which affects ectodermal structures. Ectodysplasin-A, the protein encoded by the EDA gene, is a member of the tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily that forms a collagen triple helix, suggesting functions in signal transduction and cell adhesion. Wnt signaling controls EDA gene expression, but Ectodysplasin-A does not feedback on the Wnt pathway. Protein function: Seems to be involved in epithelial-mesenchymal signaling during morphogenesis of ectodermal organs. Isoform 1 binds only to the receptor EDAR, while isoform 3 binds exclusively to the receptor XEDAR. [The UniProt Consortium]
