Cortisol binding globulin is an alpha-1 glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 55,700. It is , bonding and transporting cortisol in plasma. The mean concentration in adult serum is about , 50ug/ml. Elevated levels are observed in pregnancy. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunoelectrophoresis, Immunoprecipitation and Radial Immunodiffusion. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunoelectrophoresis: 120ul against 2ul human plasma or equivalent, Double Radial Immunodiffusion: Use a rosette arrangement with 10ul in 3mm diameter center well and 2ul plasma samples (neat and serially diluted) in 2mm diameter peripheral wells., Single Radial Immunodiffusion: 1% in gel, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
