Product information "Anti-CLEC4E"
0.5 mg/ml with 0.1 mg/ml BSA (US sourced), 0.05% sodium azide. CLEC4 is a member of the C-type lectin family of proteins that plays a role in inflammatory and immune response. CLEC4E, also called Mincle (Macrophage-inducible C-type lectin), is found on the surface of activated macrophages and phagocytes. It is a receptor for both non-self (fungi and mycobacteria), and self (damaged cells) ligands. Dead cells release SAP130 (Sin3A-Associated Protein, 130kDa), a small nuclear ribonucleoprotein component. CLEC4E senses this and interacts with the ITAM-containing adaptor protein FcRgamma, and via Syk and CARD9 signaling, activates the production of inflammatory cytokines such as TNFa, MIP-2 and IL-6. Protein function: C-type lectin that functions as cell-surface receptor for a wide variety of ligands such as damaged cells, fungi and mycobacteria. Plays a role in the recognition of pathogenic fungi, such as Candida albicans. The detection of mycobacteria is via trehalose 6,6'-dimycolate (TDM), a cell wall glycolipid. Specifically recognizes alpha-mannose residues on pathogenic fungi of the genus Malassezia. Recognizes also SAP130, a nuclear protein, that is released by dead or dying cells. Transduces signals through an ITAM-containing adapter protein, Fc receptor gamma chain /FCER1G. Induces secretion of inflammatory cytokines through a pathway that depends on SYK, CARD9 and NF-kappa-B. [The UniProt Consortium]
