Chondrotin sulfate proteoglycan 5 may act as a growth and differentiation factor in neuritogenesis. It may also induce ERBB3 activation. It is expressed in the brain only and localises to the cell membrane, endoplasmic reticulum and golgi membranes, and in neurons to the synaptic junctions. This protein is N-glycosylated, O-glycosylated and phosphorylated. There are three isoforms produced by alternative splicing. A number of forms with varying molecular weights have been observed for this protein. This is possibly the result of differences in glycosylation, phosphorylation and protein cleavage. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and direct ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilution determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
