KLRD1 (CD94) is an immune receptor preferentially expressed on Natural killer (NK) cells, a distinct lineage of lymphocytes that mediate cytotoxic activity and secrete cytokines upon immune stimulation. CD94 is one of several genes of the C-type lectin superfamily expressed by NK cells that are involved in the regulation of NK cell function including self-nonself discrimination.
