CD42b, also known as gpIb, is a two-chain membrane glycoprotein that forms a noncovalent complex with gpIX (CD42a) on the surface of platelets and megakaryocytes. Binding of the gpIb/gpIX heterodimer to von Willebrand factor bound to exposed subendothelial surfaces is essential for platelet adhesion at sites of injury. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow cytometry, Immunohistochemistry (frozen sections and paraffin sections), and Western blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: < 1ug/10e6 cells, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
