Anti-CD36 (gpIIIb, gpIV, Thrombospondin Receptor)

CD36, also known as SR-B3, is a macrophage type B scavenger receptor that participates in the clearance of apoptotic cells and mediates the uptake of long chain fatty acids, oxidized LDL, and advanced glycation endproducts. It is involved in macrophage foam cell formation and the development of atherosclerosis. CD36 is also expressed on microvascular endothelial cells and mediates the anti-angiogenic effects of Thrombospondin-1. The extracellular domains of mouse and human CD36 share 84% amino acid sequence identity. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml, Using appropriate secondary reagents and a colorimetric detection system, the detection limit for recombinant mouse CD36 is ~25ng/lane and 100ng/lane under non-reducing and reducing conditions, respectively. Chemiluminescent detection will increase sensitivity by 5 to 50 fold., Direct ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml, Using the appropriate secondary reagents, the detection limit for recombinant mouse CD36 is ~10ng/well., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
