Anti-CD31 (PECAM-1, Platelet gpIIa Molecule, Endothelial Cell Marker) (Biotin)

CD31, also known as PECAM-1, is a 130kD type I transmembrane glycoprotein adhesion molecule in the Ig superfamily. Interaction of CD31 on endothelial cells with CD31 on monocytes, neutrophils and lymphocyte subsets is required for transendothelial migration. In platelets, CD31 is necessary for limiting thrombus formation. Porcine CD31 extracellular domain contains six C2-type Ig-like domains and shows 74%, 73% and 70% amino acid (aa) identity with bovine, canine and human CD31, respectively. The 572aa ectodomain may be shed by metalloproteinase cleavage. Applications: Sutable for use in Western Blot and Flow Cytometry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml. Detection limit is ~5ng/lane under non-reducing and reducing conditions., Flow Cytometry: 25ug/ml, 10ul labels 1-2.5x10e5 cells in a total reaction volume < 200ul. , Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile TBS, pH 7.3, 0.1% BSA. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
