Product information "Anti-CD14, MONOCYTE, MACROPHAGE MARKER (FITC)"
CD14 is a glycophosphatidylinositol-linked protein, which is part of the LPS receptor complex. CD14 binds lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and as such, acts as a pattern recognition receptor (PRR). CD14 has also been suggested to mediate phagocytosis of bacteria an apoptotic cells. CD14 is involved in the endotoxin mediated release of Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha by monocytic cells. CD14 is present on most monocytic and macrophage like cell types: monocytes, macrophages, Kupffer cells, pleural phagocytic cells and dendritic reticular cells. CD14 is present in low density on a subpopulation of granulocytes and activated or transformed B-cells. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 1:50, Western Blot: 1:50, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
