Product information "Anti-Cathepsin H"
Cathepsin H is a lysosomal glycoprotein and a member of the cysteine proteinase. This cysteine protease class comprises cathepsin B, H, K, L, and O. These proteinases are viewed as simple mediators of lysosomal protein degradation. Cathepsin H is synthesized as an inactive proenzyme (41kDa) and then proteolytically processed to an active single chain, mature form (28kDa) within the endosomes/lysosomes. This proteinase is a peptidehydrolase that firstly isolated from rat liver, and then identified in liver, kidney, spleen, and brain of different mammals. Furthermore, cathepsin H is increased in disease states including breast carcinoma, melanoma, gliomas, and colorectal and prostate carcinoma. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
