Product information "Anti-Carboxypeptidase E (CPE)"
Carboxypeptidase E (CPE) is a peripheral membrane protein that cleaves C-terminal amino acid residues and is involved in the processing of numerous peptide hormones and neurotransmitters. CPE knockout mice live but become obese due to impaired glucose clearance and insulin resistance. The CPE precursor includes a signal peptide (aa1-25), a propeptide (aa26-42) and a mature chain (aa43-476). The amino acid sequence of human CPE is 99.8%, 96.6%, 96.3% and 90.2% identical to that of chimpanzee, mouse, dog and chicken. Applications: Suitable for use in Direct ELISA, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Direct ELISA: 0.5-1.0ug/ml. The detection limit for rhCPE is ~5ng/well., Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml. The detection limit for rhCPE is ~2ng/lane under non-reducing and reducing conditions. Chemiluminescence detection will increase sensitivity., Immunoprecipitation: 25ug/ml immunoprecipitates rhCPE from conditioned cell culture medium. Recovered rhCPE can be detected in Western Blots using catalog #C1209-30., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
