Anti-Calcium and Integrin Binding Protein-1 (SIP2-28, Calmyrin), clone 6A14

Calmyrin is identified as a calcium-binding protein with a molecular weight of ~22kD. Calmyrin displays various properties, including myristoylation, membrane-association, and colocalization with presenilin-2 (PS-2). Functionally, like presenilin, calmyrin causes cell death when overexpressed in HeLa cells. Interestingly, calmyrin coexpresses with PS-2, and induces additive effects in apoptosis. These results indicate diverse roles of calmyrin in cell signaling, cell death and Alzheimer disease through the modulation of presenilin function. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 0.1-1ug/ml, Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
