Anti-Cadherin E (Cadherin-1, E-Cadherin, L-CAM, Epithelial Cell Adhesion Molecule, Uvomorulin, CDH1)

E-cadherin (uvomorulin, cell- CAM120/80) is a calcium dependent cell adhesion molecule expressed predominately in epithelial tissues. It plays an important role in the growth and development of cells via the mechanisms of control of tissue architecture and the maintenance of tissue integrity. Numerous studies have demonstrated that reduction and/or loss of E-cadherin expression in carcinomas correlates positively with the potential of these tumors for invasion and metastasis. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (formalin/paraffin only): (Use Ab at 1:5-1:10 for 30 min at RT) Staining of formalin-fixed tissues REQUIRES boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Breast carcinoma , Cellular Localization: Cell membrane, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
