Anti-BLMH (Bleomycin Hydrolase, BH, BLM Hydrolase, BMH)

BLMH is a member of the peptidase C1 family and exists as a homohexamer. While its normal physiological function is not known, it protects normal and malignant cells from the glycopeptide antitumor drug BLM. It inactivates bleomycin B2 (a cytotoxic glycometallopeptide) by hydrolysis of a carboxyamide bond of beta-aminoalanine and also shows general aminopeptidase activity. The specificity varies but amino acid arylamides of Met, Leu and Ala are preferred. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
