CIAP-2 is a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis family of proteins that inhibit the proteolytic activity of mature caspases. Human cIAP-2 is a 604aa protein that contains 3 BIR domains, a RING finger domain, and a caspase recruitment domain (CARD). cIAP-2 inhibits caspases through the direct interaction of its BIR domain with the active caspase. Caspase activity may be restored through interactions with the Reaper like motif on mitochondrial proteins such as SMAC/Diablo or HtrA2/Omi. cIAP-2 is reported to be cleaved by HtrA2/Omi. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 0.5mg/ml using Raji human Burkitt's lymphoma cell line, Daudi human Burkitt's lymphoma cell line and A20 mouse B cell lymphoma cell line., Immunohistochemistry (FFPE): 8-25ug/ml using immersion fixed paraffin-embedded sections of normal human colon and human colon cancer tissue., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
