Apo D is localized to steroid-responsive tissues (adrenal cortex, ovary, endometrium, prostate and pituitary). Apocrine epithelium within axillary skin exhibited strongly positive staining for Apo D and peripheral nerves, pituitary and renal tubules were also immunoreactive. Apo D, a progesterone binding glycoprotein of 24,000 dalton monomer molecular size, is a constituent of high density lipoprotein in plasma and was first isolated in large quantity as GCDFP-24, the major protein component of most human breast cyst fluids. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1ug/ml, Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 10ug/ml , Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
