Anti-Alpha Internexin, clone ID2

Anti-Alpha Internexin Antibody is directed against rat Alpha Internexin. The antibody is a total IgG fraction from concentrated clarified cell culture supernate. Anti-Alpha Internexin antibody can be used on formalin-fixed cells in tissue culture, cryostat sections, and Western blotting. The epitope recognized by the ID2 clone is in the C-terminal non-helical extension of the protein and is unusually resistant to aldehyde fixation, so that this antibody is ideal for studies of paraffin embedded formalin fixed histological sections. Reactivity is expected against human and mouse. Cross reactivity from other sources has not been determined. Protein function: Class-IV neuronal intermediate filament that is able to self-assemble. It is involved in the morphogenesis of neurons. It may form an independent structural network without the involvement of other neurofilaments or it may cooperate with NF-L to form the filamentous backbone to which NF-M and NF-H attach to form the cross-bridges.
