Human serum albumin is the most abundant protein in human serum.  It is produced in liver cells as preproalbumin and released to blood to become albumin after cleavage of the N-terminal peptide. The protein is a monomeric, soluble protein with a molecular mass of 67kD. Human albumin has important functions in transporting human hormones, fatty acids and other compounds, and in maintaining PH balance and osmotic pressure of blood. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Sp2/0-Ag14 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
