Unit Definition: 1 unit of MAPKAP kinase 2 activity is defined as 1nmol phosphate incorporated into 30uM substrate peptide (KKLNRTLSVA), (Cat #M2355-09) per minute at 30°C with a final ATP concentration of 100uM.. Form: Supplied as 5ug of enzyme in 50ul of Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, 150mM sodium chloride, 0.1mM EGTA, 0.03% Brij-35, 0.2mM PMSF, 0.1% 2-mercaptoethanol, 1mM benzamidine, 5mM dithiothreitol, 50% glycerol. Kinase Assay: 2.2-6ng of enzyme phosphorylated 30uM MAPKAP kinase 2 substrate peptide, MS Tryptic Fingerprint: Confirmed identity as MAPKAP kinase 2 with 23% amino acid coverage of the translated native sequence (see protocol). Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C.
