Product information "Mannoside Acetylglucosaminyltransferase 2/GlcNAc-TII Protein(C-6His) (recombinant human)"
Protein Construction: Recombinant Human Mannoside Acetylglucosaminyltransferase 2 is produced by our Mammalian expression system and the target gene encoding Arg30-Gln447 is expressed with a 6His tag at the C-terminus. Sequence: Arg30-Gln447. Fusion tag: C-6His Endotoxin: < 1.0 EU per µg as determined by the LAL method. Apparent Molecular Mass: 50 kDa. Protein function: Mannoside Acetylglucosaminyltransferase 2 (MGAT2) is a single-pass type II membrane protein that contains the typical glycosyltransferase domains: a short N-terminal cytoplasmic domain, a hydrophobic non-cleavable signal-anchor domain and a C-terminal catalytic domain. MGAT2 catalyzes an essential step in the conversion of oligo-mannose to complex N-glycans. Defects in MGAT2 are the cause of congenital disorder of glycosylation type 2A. Protein function: Plays an essential role in protein N-glycosylation. Catalyzes the transfer of N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) onto the free terminal mannose moiety in the core structure of the nascent N-linked glycan chain, giving rise to the second branch in complex glycans.
