Recombinant Human FGF-basic (FGF-2) is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 155aa and having a molecular weight of 17.3kD. The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined to be Ala-Glu-Gly-Glu-Ile. Source: Recombinant Human FGF-basic, expressed in E. coli. , Molecular Weight: 17.3kD, Activity: The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of BAF3 cells expressing FGF receptors (measured by 3H-thymidine uptake) is <0.5ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 2 x 10e6 Units/mg. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile deionized water to a concentration >100ug/ml. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
