FABP1, Recombinant, Human (His) (Fatty Acid Binding Protein 1, L-FABP, Liver-type Fatty Acid Binding

FABP1 is a fatty acid binding protein in adipocytes. Fatty acid binding proteins are a family of small, highly conserved, cytoplasmic proteins that bind long-chain fatty acids and other hydrophobic ligands. FABPs regulate the fatty acid uptake, transport, and metabolism. FABP1 is required for cholesterol synthesis and metabolism. Sequence: Human FABP1 (aa1-127) is fused at the C-terminus to a His-tag, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~16kD (SDS-PAGE), Endotoxin: <1EU/ug (LAL test, Lonza), Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
