Sodium-independent, high affinity transport of small neutral D- and L-amino acids and amino acid-related compounds. May play a role in the modulation of glutamatergic transmission through mobilization of D-serine at the glutamatergic synapse. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to Mouse Asc-type amino acid Transporter 1, fused to His-tag at N-terminal, expressed in Yeast. Molecular Weight: ~22.5kD, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
