ANGPTL7 is expressed in the corneal stroma, trabecular meshwork, and sclera. ANGPTL7 production is up-regulated in trabecular meshwork cells by glucocorticoids and TGF-Beta and in cartilage by TNF-alpha.ANGPTL7 produced in Sf9 Baculovirus cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 324 amino acids (22-337 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 37.5kDa (Migrates at 40-57kDa on SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions). Protein function: Has a role in the formation and organization of the extracellular matrix. In the eye, it functions as a mediator of dexamethasone-induced matrix deposition in the trabecular meshwork, the tissue responsible for the outflow of the ocular aqueous humor and for the maintenance of intraocular pressure.
