JKC363 (acetate)

JKC363 is a cyclic peptide antagonist of melanocortin receptor 4 (MC4R) (IC50 = 0. nM). It is selective for MC4R over MC3R (IC50 = 44. nM). JKC363 (100 nM) decreases basal thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) secretion and alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone- (alpha-MSH-) or gamma2-MSH-induced TRH secretion in rat hypothalamic explants. It inhibits proliferation of isolated postnatal rat hippocampal neural precursor cells induced by [Nle4,D-Phe7]-alpha-MSH (Cay-41548) when used at a concentration of 10 nM.
