Doxylamine-d5 (succinate)

Doxylamine-d5 is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of doxylamine by GC- or LC-MS. Doxylamine is an antihistamine. It selectively inhibits contractions induced by histamine (Cay-33828) over acetylcholine (ACh, Cay-23829) in isolated guinea pig ileum (IC50s = 0.01 and 0.58 µg/ml, respectively). Doxylamine (2-4 mg/kg) protects rabbits against anaphylaxis induced by beef serum antigen. It reduces ethanol-induced deficits in behavior performance in rats when administered at a dose of 60 mg/kg.
