Ombuin

Ombuin is a flavonoid that has been found in B. balsamifera and has diverse biological activities. It is an antagonist of M1 muscarinic acetylcholine receptors (mAChRs, Ki = 42 µM in CHO-K1 cells expressing the human receptor). Ombuin is cytotoxic to HepG2 hepatocellular carcinoma cells (IC50 = 1.5 µg/ml).
