Quercetin 3-O-alpha-L-arabinopyranoside

Quercetin 3-O-alpha-L-arabinopyranoside is a phenol that has been found in Byrsonima crassa and has antioxidant activity. It scavenges 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH, Cay-14805) radicals in a cell-free assay (IC50 = 48.6 µM). Quercetin 3-O-alpha-L-arabinopyranoside inhibits H. pylori-induced oxidative burst of isolated rat polymorphonuclear (PMN) neutrophils (IC50 = 75.3 µM). It reduces N-retinylidene-N-retinylethanolamine- and blue light-induced death of ARPE-19 retinal epithelial cells in a concentration-dependent manner.
