Inosine-5'-monophosphate (IMP) is a substrate of IMP dehydrogenase (IMPDH), a NAD+-dependent enzyme that generates xanthosine monophosphate. This is a rate-limiting step in the generation of guanosine monophosphate, which is important for DNA, RNA, and glycoprotein synthesis.
