Cytogenin

Cytogenin is a coumarin derivative originally found in S. eurocidicum that has diverse biological activities. It reduces tumor weight in an Ehrlich murine spontaneous adenocarcinoma model when administered at a dose of 25 mg/kg per day. In vivo, cytogenin (30 and 100 mg/kg per day) reduces streptozotocin-induced decreases in body weight and increases in plasma glucose levels and macrophage pancreatic infiltration in a mouse model of diabetes.
