Alexidine (hydrochloride)

Alexidine is an alkyl bis(biguanide) antiseptic which has been used in mouthwashes to eliminate plaque forming microorganisms. It binds to lipopolysaccharide and lipoteichoic acid and inhibits fungal phospholipase B (IC50 ~ 250 nM).
