Leukopaks
A Leukopak is a concentrated blood product obtained from normal peripheral blood by the process of leukophoresis. In this procedure, the blood is centrifuged in a cell separator, white blood cells are selectively removed, and the remaining blood is returned to the patient. The leukopaks from our partner Research Donors contain more than 10 billion cells, a higher concentration of leukocytes than a standard blood sample or buffy coat. Therefore, leukopaks are of interest to researchers who require a large number of leukocytes from the same donor. Because of the highly concentrated cell count, they are used in cell therapy research (for example CAR-T), in the field of toxicology, and in high-throughput drug screenings.
